“Accidental Art”

I created this video as my first iMovie for studies. It is not for commercial use. The music is “Girls on Film” by Duran Duran.

All the photos in this 60 second ad campaign were shot by me with iPhone 5, 7 and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple has a very successful “Shot on iPhone” campaign. The company commissions creatives to create moving social media promos and advertising. There are even full movies shot on iPhone. There is also a global contest for the best photography shot on iPhone. The twist for my campaign idea “Accidental Art” is that we are not all professional photographers to the level of what we see advertised by Apple but with the iPhone anyone and everyone can create art.

It would be wonderful if Apple actually saw this. It took a lot or work and time synching the images to their music. This class contribution should have taken 2-3 hours to complete. However, it took me a whole day to figure out the concept, another to choose the images, and a third day just to synch the music. I probably went back a few more times to tweak and fine tune to have fresh eyes. It is the first time I used iMovie so that may have played a part.

“Accidental Art” could be edited for commercial TV, online adverts, YouTube or even shortened for TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
